Sync not retrieving previous session

TL;DR
- How do I restore a synced session after updating/reinstalling Opera?
- If the correct way is not to toggle sync back on after logging in again, then what is it??
My Opera browser got updated by itself. Seems like it was a major update, so it logged me out.
After the update, I opened some pdfs with Opera or something, but I didn't log in because I wasn't using it much.
When I finally went to log in again, to restore all the workspaces and tabs that I was working with, it didn't happen as I was expecting. Turning sync on didn't bring back my stuff, it overwrote almost everything* with the single "Opera Update Complete" tab. Is there a way to get all of my work back?
*I think my workspaces got restored properly because of their names, but they are empty... My extensions were also not restored, the list is empty, but I think my theme was also restored.
I am sure that the session was properly synced to my account before logging in, because I accessedhttps://www.sync.opera.com/tabs
on another browser beforehand to check my 100ish tabs session worth of data was there. I would have exported (saved) it first just in case, but there didn't seem to be an option for that.I'm honestly kinda pissed because I suspect there might be no way to recover the session that seems to have been overwritten. Does anyone have any information about this?
