"Clear Data When Quit" Whitelist

I use a feature in Firefox that allows a whitelist of sites to retain cookies and site data for when quitting. It's nice, for example, to not have to log in to Gmail every time I restart my computer/browser... yet at the same time have random websites I visit to read articles, etc. have their cookies and site data cleared out.
Opera seems to only allow "Clear cookies and site data when you quit Opera" with no such whitelist, so I either have to blow everything away or deal with everything building up (then having to cherry pick what to delete under "See all site data and permissions".
The convenience of not having to log in again is the main reason for this, but some websites also store useful site data a user would want to retain such as an a search or navigation history or a preference stored in the browser. Having an all-or-nothing scenario for this with Opera might make someone choose Firefox or another browser that supports this feature over Opera.
