how can I play gifs in Opera?

Hi everyone, 1st time posting here, I'm switching from chrome to Opera for the data savings bit I can't seem to play gifs of any kind. I tried on 4 phones so far.
I tried looking in songs but I can't seem to find anything useful, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Gifs are played automatically when they load. Can you post an example here (only the link)?

nevermind.. it was my own stupidity.. apparently this happens while using off road mode.
maybe there should be a separate option to always enable gifs irregardless of browsing mode..thanks anyway

off-road is designed to reduce data usage, and gifs are among the biggest data hogs you can encounter on a website.
it wouldn't really make sense to make off-road work without compressing/converting images.
