Flickr uploader not working: cannot add files either via drag and drop or by selecting them. Works fine with Firefox but I do not want to have to be switching between browsers.

Its working fine for me. Can you try again from a private window in Opera? If it works there, it could be a good idea to look at what extensions you have installed or to go to Opera: Clear Private Data.
PS: Website problems is something you really should talk to the website about.
