Modify address bar

Hi,
ok, you forced me into leaving 12.14 because the whole www broke down for me in the last weeks. So here's one of the most important question for giving the new opera a chance:

How do I modify the address bar to suit to my needs? Like I need the Extension icons on the left, where I actually see them. And I'd like to have a seperate search field again, because sometimes I need to see the search term even when I keep on browsing in the tab.

I can't find anything.
