Can somebody tell me why my "new tab" button is in the middle of my tabs list?

A few days ago, I woke my laptop up from sleep to find... this. I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, I can't move the "new tab" button back to the right. I'm fairly sure that restarting the browser will fix it, but it's still a funny occurrence nonetheless so I thought I'd document it
. I'm also curious to know how this could have happened.
Linux: Kubuntu 23.04
Kernel: 6.2.0-25-generic (64-bit)
Graphics: Wayland
Opera: 100.0.4815.54 -

I would have re-started the browser and be done with it
(different story if it persists beyond this one-time anomaly)
