opera gx keeps becoming unresponsive when watching youtube

I always end up needing to close Opera GX and reopen it whenever this happens. Even if I set the video quality to 144p or look at another tab with the miniplayer off the problem doesn't stop. And I don't turn on any limiters that keep the browser from running smoothly.
