Reset password form not working / not displaying validation issue

So i tried resetting my password with this link https://auth.opera.com/account/lost-password?service=auth
i receive the email with reset link, thats fine. but any new password i enter in the form is not valid (i get a red border, but no message to notify what is wrong with it) so as a result no way of resetting a password.
reason i need to reset, is i need to enter my password to activate syncing, but i created my account with google and dont need the password to login and as a result i forgot the pw... resetting password via opera account doesnt work for me as i forgot mine. which is a whole other problem.
