      Hi, fellow Opera lovers,

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find a resolution so far.

Opera under KDE isn't showing Window Borders as it used to. Under KDE, this makes a bunch of Window operations (such as move to a different Desktop) impossible, and others really difficult - like resizing the window, because the resize handles are offset from where they are expected to be. It's possible to apply a temporary fix, for a single Opera window, by hitting ALT-F3 while a given window has focus. This pops up a new menu with options like "Move To Desktop", and there is a submenu called "More Actions". Going into that menu shows a few items, one of which is "No Border", and this is on by default in every new Opera window. Switching it off restores the KDE Window Menu and Title Bar. Sadly, this is not persistent, and every new Opera window has to be individually changed every time.

I know this is at least partially a KDE issue (and I'll be posting this on KDE forums too), but it's unique to Opera, at least so far. FireFox and Brave behave normally.

My question to the forum is : has anyone found a way to make this "No Borders" setting permanently off?

      Machine is .....
      Operating System: KDE neon 5.26
      KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.5
      KDE Frameworks Version: 5.102.0
      Qt Version: 5.15.8
      Kernel Version: 5.15.0-58-generic (64-bit)
      Graphics Platform: X11
      Processors: 24 × AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor
      Memory: 47.0 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600
      Manufacturer: ASUS

      Opera is: Version:94.0.4606.76

      Thanks,

      Paul

P.S. I have screenshots, but this forum won't let me attach them - Get this error every time...

        You can set it permanently:
More Actions / Configure Special Applications Settings
        and then click "Add Property"
scroll down and find and select "No titlebar and frame"
and then from dropdown list select "Remember"
        preserve "No" checkbox
        "Apply" and that's it.

@marcus2812 That was what I tried back when I started the topic. It doesn't work for me at all...in fact it causes the KDE workspace to start flashing and flickering, and crashes KWin. It doesn't add the window border to Opera, and doesn't seem to survive a restart of Opera. There may be some other settings in that area....is it Application Settings or Window Settings?" What is the Window Class?

The only way I can get it to show borders is by manually doing the Alt-F3 sequence and manually turning on the borders. Then. I tried "Detect Window Properties" after manually turning on the borders....and that seems to have worked, including through an Opera restart.

          Thanks,

          Paul
