[Duplicated]opera gx is canceling my file downloads

every time I try to download anything opera gx cancels it and says interrupted: virus scan failed and I don't know why it even does this for images

Happens when you don't have any anti-virus software and Windows Defender is disabled.
See https://forums.opera.com/post/244148 and the comment that follows it for the registry key you need to edit and the ScanWithAntiVirus value you have create/edit (to 1 according to the following comment).
Issue is mentioned here also.

@burnout426 thanks for the info but everything that you stated is done and i cant install anything on opera i can install on other browsers but opera just wont let me

Just to be sure, copy the following into a new document in notepad and save as fixme.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments] "ScanWithAntiVirus"=dword:00000001Then, right-click fixme.reg and choose "merge".
Then, close Opera and restart Windows.
If that still doesn't work, create fixme2.reg with the following and merge that into the registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments] "ScanWithAntiVirus"=dword:00000001Then, restart Windows again.

This usually only happens if you don't have any anti-virus software installed besides Windows Defender and have Windows Defender disabled. Is that the case for you or do you actually have Windows Defender enabled like it's supposed to be or have some other anti-virus software installed (like McAfee)?
