Opera GX keeps restarting even after complete reinstall

A month back, the issue appeared: opera would restart randomly after some time passed. It first started doing it 30min after being opened but now it does every 10 (and somehow restarts sometimes when I didn't even open the browser in the first place). Every topic i see about similar issues are all from 5 years ago and the last resort fix was always a complete uninstall/install (downloaded the installer again from edge).
After doing one (and losing all my profile settings), it's doing it again. I've checked and no other app does this on my computer, my anti-malware doesn't spot anything and it's pretty much the only thing strange happening on my pc. I'm hopeless at this point and I wonder if I should just change browser.
