Cannot add tab either by clicking the + or rightclicking and choosing to open new tab

I'm running Opera 93.0.4585.37 in various Arch based distros and I'm unable to open a new tab when I click the + on the tab bar or by rightclicking and selecting new tab. I just checked on my roommates machine and it's the same behavior. Any idea what might be causing it? Thanks
