Sidebar apps close

Hey, it seems my sidebar apps keeps closing around every 10-30 minutes, this causes whatsapp to not send me notifications on new messages since the app is closed and i need to re open it every 10 minutes in the sidebar, is this intentional to save ram/cpu? or is there a way to stop that from happening, since it gets tiresome when i dont get the notifications on whatsapp and discord since it keeps making me re open the app since its not "running" in the backround like i want it too
