Opera GX Whatsapp web not working even with force dark mode off

Problem is as title states. I finally wanted to make the switch from chrome to opera gx and use all the features it has. I open the whatsapp from the sidebar and the qr code can't scan. I googled it and they all say turn off force dark mode, now I didnt even know what it was at first. After I figured it out I turned it from default to disabled and tried again. Still nothing. I am all out of ideas now. I turned the whole browser to light themed now and still it isn't working. anyone have a solution?
