How to remove Opera icon from task manager menu?

Hello everyone!
After the last update of Opera for Android, the icon of the app started to show on Task Manager menu, right next to Close all apps and Usage stats. Does anyone knows how to remove it from there, because for me it's really annoying? Here's a link to a screen shot (sorry if it's forbidden by the rules):

Simply go into your Application Manager, choose Opera, scroll down to 'clear defaults' et voila - the Opera icon will have disappeared and the search icon returned.

Note 2? 4.4.2? Is that a custom ROM or have you disabled Google?
If you can't "clear defaults" it's because either Google Search or any other app that can take that spot is not present in your phone.
One icon must be there, this is defined by your ROM. Since no app was available to take that spot before the ROM had to left it blank, but now that you have one... You can only replace it with Google Search (Now) or something else or stop using Opera.
Enjoy the new shortcut to start typing in Opera search/address field. Seriously, personally I find it's great!

4.4.2, official ROM from Samsung.
Yes, I had disabled Google search because if I need to search every browser do it when i type text in the address field. And this is annoying for me to see that icon, so I'll stop using Opera. Thanks -

Well, plain and simple, I find your attitude disgusting.
You're "blaming" Opera for using an option the operating system gives for us Opera users to benefit from it so we can use Opera quickly...
You use Opera but you don't like to "see it"...
I really don't get it, what's so hard in perhaps ignoring that icon (and shortcut in other phones, e.g. swipe up from home) that will certainly be very helpful to other users...
I also don't use Google Now, like you said I'd rather type the search directly in the browser, so my preferred browser replacing it is the perfect fit.

The problem, for me, is not that the icon is there, but that the icon is red. Every other icon there is grey, and this just irritates my eyes
Is there an option to make the icon in other color, like the rest there? I think that there is no such option.
Actually i don't get the point that there is a search button at all - Google or Opera, all the same, I don't use it, but the color sheme there is black and grey and this contrast red icon is really annoying me -

I can't see the screenshot here, but I guess you're using the regular version of opera mobile?
you could give opera mobile beta a try.
it's a more frequently updated version of the browser, and it has a white/grey O as icon. -

the main problem is, that app developers does not make features like this optional.
I really dont need that icon too. There ia no option to disable it. Also you cantdisable the discovery tab...
I really hate when developernazis a deignazis want to force they new bright ideas on users. -
