Opera GX video error Skipped footage

Opera GX has been working like a treat for me for a while but in the last day I've noticed an issue occur for no discernable reason, every time that I tab away/minimize a video it reacts as if I've pressed the fast forward button once. This is almost consistently reproduceable with me skipping over and over by just opening and closing gx.

I do not have hardware acceleration on currently and cannot see why that would matter as this didn't happen before yesterday. I've updated since then to try and fix this issue but to no avail. Ive also had rarely it start skipping rapidly through the whole video.
