Youtube videos taking up way too much processing power

Opera GX was something I got almost a year ago. Working perfectly, not chugging along, but unfortunately- recent times have not expressed the same experience. It's no longer perfectly fine.
Tabs with a YouTube video playing chug at a snails pace, taking up to "200~%" of my CPU and "600~" megabytes of ram in the hot tabs killer section, and around 10% of my CPU on the CPU limiter, and 1 gigabyte on the RAM limiter. Videos on lower qualities run worse, running at even lower frames than a video on 4k. A strange occurrence that nothing has seemed to fix. Trying too look up the error shows solutions from several years ago that have not yet worked. Thanks for the assistance in advance.
