12.17 vs. 24.0

I really had wonderful years with Opera. I did never regret abandoning IE, I left Firefox pretty much aside and used Chrome also only occasionally. Todays situation is different though.
Now I have Opera installed twice: 12, and 24. Where is the issue one could ask.Well, I simply don't see how 24 can possibly be an upgrade, while a lot of the (in my eyes essentially) functions are missing. For me it is rather "Opera light".
Resizing windows doesn't work at all (is this not fashion anymore?); a lot password forms are either not recognized, or recognized to be different though it is the same login, probably because of some session-based URI changes; downloading files became comparingly funny; restoring closed tabs costs a lot more time then with the old version; a lot of the mouse gestures don't work anymore (like going to the next page of the Google results pages by holding the left mouse and then clicking the right mouse button); ... I could keep continuing this list.I may be mistaking, perhaps there are addons like "restore the functionality of 12 you always loved", but I just could not find them.
So, dear Opera developers, I humbly ask you to either update 12 to make it render as nicely as 24 does, so were are not locked out anymore from sites like Google+ and other pages - or, if you prefer, update 24 to make it work so fast and intuitively as 12 (and the releases before) always had.
Dear reader, if some of these thoughts also hit your mind, please give a +1.
