Blank speed dial picture recommendations

When I click the heart icon to add a website to speed dial and choose what picture I want they will just show up as different colors, for example:
But then in a new tab, this speed dial will have an actual picture:
and then if I go back to the website using the same speed dial it'll show this pic but not anything else:
Why has this happened?
