Exporting/importing of Speed Dial settings

I am trying to regress back to 22 to overcome the newer versions loss of one handed zooming. Unfortunately, even though I have enabled installing applications from unknown sources, clicking on the apk fails without installing: " X App not installed"
Perhaps uninstalling the current version is necessary but if I do that how do I save my several hundred speed dial? And how do import them back? I am on a Nexus 4 but I am no longer rooted. If I root don't I have to wipe the phone and thus lose the speed dials?
