Close picture-in-picture without pausing the video or switching tabs

I would like there to be a button added to the picture-in-picture that closes the window without returning to the tab playing the video or pausing the video.
This is the current UI:
The button in the top left when clicked will redirect the user to the tab which is playing the video and disable the picture-in-picture for the next time another tab is opened. The button in the top right will close the picture-in-picture without changing tabs, but it does pause the video playback.
I would like an option that is in-between these two. I would like to be able to close the picture-in-picture video without changing tabs like the x in the top right allows me to, but also without pausing the video like the source button in the top left allows me to.
This would be useful when listening to music through YouTube. With picture-in-picture enabled by default, it is a chore to use YouTube for listening to music. After starting the video, I have to open a new tab, close the picture-in-picture that pops up, go back to the original tab where it has now paused (or I have been redirected to depending on which button I pressed), and then play it again. Having one button to do this would be a major quality of life improvement.
Thank you,
Michael -
