Hi all,
I just upgraded my Opera 12.17 to Opera 24, yeah slow I know.. The thing is that I reserved all my data, history and other things from old Opera and when I installed 24 the old one was still installed. I tried to make new 24 a default browser-->answered yes to its question, but my selection is not saved. And when I try to make it default from settings, where it says "Opera is not your default browser"-->pushed the button-->"The default browser is currently Opera"----> But when I close the settings window and go right back to settings-> the message is same "Opera is not your default browser". So even if I try to save my default, it is not saved, I wonder why...
I hope someone could help me in this case. Thank you in advance!

You might try deleting operaprefs.ini. It will be re-created the next time you start Opera. Sometimes this file gets corrupted and settings are not saved.
Look in the following folder for operaprefs.ini. If you don't have 64-bit Opera, the last folder name won't have x64 as part of it.
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera x64You might have to unhide the AppData folder to see it. If you don't see it, select the radio button below.
Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Files and Folders > Hidden files and folders > * Show hidden files, folders, and drivesThis information is for Windows 7, and operaprefs.ini is in all versions of Opera, but it's location may vary depending on what OS you are using, and what version of Opera you are using.

Operaprefs.ini only exists in Presto (12-) versions of Opera, not in the Chromium (15+) based versions.
Opera version 15 and higher will not replace earlier versions.
If you want to use later Chromium versions only, you should install the later version and import your bookmarks into the new version, and then uninstall the earlier Presto version manually. -

I see I was looking at an older folder I still have on my Windows machine. I am using Opera 24, but saved the folders for Opera 12.
This looks like the equivalent in Opera 24. I would try deleting that.
