I've been using Opera for 10 years (mostly not as my main browser, just for specific sites I want kept open all the time) but can't find how to do a couple of things with v.18. I've tried the help files, googling and searching this forum but I'm stuck.

Firstly I want a favourites toolbar like I have in Chrome, or a way to make Speed Dial into a toolbar.

Secondly and more importantly, I want to be able to execute javascript on a page. In Chrome I'd put the code in a favourite and have it on the toolbar. As I can't find how to do this in Opera 18 I tried pasting the code into the address bar, which would work in other browsers. Instead of executing the code, Opera takes me away from the page and treats the code as a search term.

Bookmark any page to add it to the Quick Access Bar, then edit the bookmark properties, replacing its URL with your Javascript.

Thank you, brother - how nice to come home from an evening's Dharma study and find an reply from a fellow Buddhist! Much metta to you.

I now have the code in a speed dial, but I need it to run on top of an already-running page - in a new tab it can't do anything. Is there a way to activate a speed dial without going back to the start page?

In older versions, there was a User Javascript facility so code could be automatically executed when a specific page was loaded, but I cannot find a way to do that on v.18.
