Custom icons

I have seen other ask about this but wondering if it was any news on adding custom icons to shortcuts on homepage. The sites i visit most are similiar so i easily mistake them for each other. Or if its a way for me as a website admin to make some changes on my side. Since it doesnt seem to be pulling favicon. For example on a money lender site i work a lot on https://lanfordeg.no/ in opera it just says the url on the homepage shortcuts.
