I'm on a Mac with 10.9.4 and use Opera 23.0.1522.77. My flash is up to date. I haven't installed plugins. Still I can't view the video's on that site for example:
      https://www.creativelive.com/courses/art-business-high-end-retouching-pratik-naik
Is this a bug or what? Maybe I have to do something to resolve the problem. BTW I like this browser.

The site only makes the video available in a closed and patented format (MP4, H.264). Opera never supported that formats, sticking to supporting an open format for the good of the web instead (WEBM, VP8/9+OGG Theora).

Since MP4 and MP3 became a de-facto standards, only now they're implementing support for that format in platforms where these codecs are available.

Stable-quality support for MP4 is coming in an upcoming Opera version to be release, but you may want to try to enable the early experiment and it may work perfectly on your Mac. Please type "opera:flags" in the address field and press Enter, search for Proprietary media types (opera://flags/#proprietary-media-types-playback), enable the flag and restart Opera.

Try to access the page and watch the video.
If anything goes bad revert the flag to the "default" option.

Thanks for the comment but Proprietary media types is only supported by Windows for this release.
