I'm sorry I did not take my time to write you down a full list of all the goodies the Opera 12 and earlier versions sported. It would be too long.
But as we all know, nobody will implement these fine features! So it would be a waste of time.
You may get an idea what people like me (long-time-Opera-users) miss, when you read here:
      http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2014/04/opera-12-17/#content

If you are willing to bring back functionality to save my time during the pc-day, please do so. But the new Opera is around long enough and I haven't noticed an improvement.

      Take just these:
Bookmarks with the functionality as they used to be, not this FF-like behaviour...
      bookmark-import
      panels
      right-klick email from page
right-klick image and mark it as advertisement and block it
      auto fill in forms
      stack tabs
easily accessable buttons to enable: javascript, sound in webpage, plugins, etc.

Yep, for me at least, Opera is Dead, My default browser is slimjet a Chromium based browser with the Blink engine, The tabs work like they should now, no more of this opening in the background, I can change the search engine on the omnibar to anything I want with out typing in extra letters or whatever bullshit, it comes with a real bookmarks manager, a home button that I can set to any page I want and a multitude of other features also, I can even set the bookmarks bar to autohide, this browser has only been out less than two months and it has all this and more, toolbar customizations, why didnt Opera do all this ? I waited patiently but time ran out, but it was only a matter of time till someone did the job right, this could be the New Old Opera Right on, if the Tablet people like the New Opera then I guess it's perfectly tailored for them but not me
