Serious lag, low framerate while scrolling a PDF

As I said in the title I'm facing an ugly constant lag while scrolling PDFs, independently of their size.. I just have an approximately 15-25 fps scrolling animation... This occurs only using Opera GX's pdf viewer, whereas using Edge I can scroll really smoothly at 144 fps (my monitor refresh rate).
Any fixes? Thanks for reading!
(also I noticed that the framerate returns normal during the super-short animation where the grey title bar shows/hydes)
