[Solved] Youtube has a white fade overlay on the videos

I just got opera. when i went to watch a youtube video there is a white fade from the bottom of the video. i checked my other browsers to double check, and its just opera. is there a reason or setting to remove this?

@bigbro Its the new ad policy i think, this started few months ago and despite using the adblocker it wont go.

@bigbro Hello! I use to have this problem as well, and this is due to the automatic dark mode feature GX has. To get rid of this issue, right click on your screen (inside YouTube) and click "Disable force dark page." Hopefully this helps!

@littlemizzfit You are correct i found out like 10 minutes after my post, but i couldnt remove it due to it being reviewed. automatic dark mode was the issue

I've found a solution that seems to work while still using dark mode. If you go to to flags using opera://flags then click on the drop down box next to "Auto dark mode for Web-Contents" and select "Enabled with selective inversion of non-image elements" then follow the prompt to relaunch you should find everything cleared up.

well i tried doing it aswell but for some reason it didnt work so then i htought oh it the version must be outdated so i updated it and nothing changed it still has force dark mode on while i have it turned off can someone help?

try this search up chrome://flags/ and search dark and u will find Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents press on and it and turn it to enabled with selective inverison of nonimages elements and relaunch and it should be fixed
