I've been sticking to 12.12 because I'd read the complaints,
1. What happened to F2 to access the go to page? Why remove the 'go to page' function? I loved pushing one button instead on CTRL+L. Anyone to get it back or at least change CTRL L to F2?
2. Quick access bar is intrusive and eats up screen space. It was why I decided to give 18 a go cause I thought we have a bookmark thing back. Why are they stubbornly not giving us the bookmarks? If there were a keyboard shortcut to toggle quick access bar on or off it might work.
I'm gonna give Opera Next a go when I get home but its sad that I prefer a one year old version of Opera to everything else.

- Try F8 — that's also just one button.
- I don't think they're being stubborn. There are many things to be done — they need to integrate bookmarks with stash and speed dial, not to mention a hundred other features that one or another user thinks is essential (tab-stacking, tab previews, vertical tabs, etc.) A toggle key would indeed make it usable — I now use the Bookmarks Bar in Opera 11.64 with a button to show it for 5 seconds or toggle it on and off (click and drag down).

Hope they will finally implement customizable shortcuts. Especially shortcut sequence, it is very useful for less often actions,no need to waste a ctrl+*

Just installed opera 17 next.
Ugh, F8 is in the middle of the keyboard. So much easier to F2 cause usually left hand is resting to the left of the keyboard. No way to customise shortcut?
Just don't know why they won't make the quick access bar accessible from the Opera button like a bookmark.
What happened the 'closed tabs' menu on the top right? I love that tab.
How do I import my bookmarks/speed dial? I used the Opera help and it tells me to use the greyed out bookmark importer?
They should have kept on developing the old Opera 12 and this new one side by side instead of making us either stick to a 1 year old browser or play beta tester.

F8 is no further from my right-hand fingers than F2 is from my left-hand fingers. Maybe it's time to increase your dexterity a bit.

Bookmarks are still under development. Opera has stated that they are continuing to work on it, at least in the context of a more comprehensive manager for QAB, SpeedDial, and Stash. Once that emerges, there may be a better access to management of each. Or... there may not. RIght now, we just don't know how it will turn out.

Staffing and financing two complete development teams to develop two differently-constructed browsers would have been beyond Opera's resources. A choice had to be made, and it was. Now the choice we face is to either accept the results (perhaps continuing to use the old versions while the new continues to be developed) or move on to something else.

Right hand is on mouse which is further from F8 than the left.
I'm surfing the net, not playing Counter-Strike. Ease of use is more important. Would like to hear Opera's reason for removing F2.

They didn't remove it. It has never been there since Opera Blink was first launched.
I would like to hear a reason why this particular feature should be re-implemented in Opera Blink when we don't have even important features like keyboard shortcut customisation. If we had that, you could set F2 to focus the address field.
Clearly, some features are used by very few users, while others are used by many or most users. The developers need to prioritise and not waste their time on recreating stuff that almost no-one uses, instead of innovating and fixing important bugs.
