If your search engine keeps changing to Yahoo, it may be due to the browser hijacker virus. Hackers use the Yahoo search redirect virus to earn revenue generated by clicks on Yahoo.

@bunny17 Scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes and remove all your extensions at the URL
opera://extensions
. Make sure no extensions come back after a restart of Opera. Also, after you get rid of the issue in other browsers, if needed, download the Opera GX installer, goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "install" path, close Opera, uninstall Opera (do not choose to delete your data when uninstalling), delete the install folder (it will remain), launch the installer, click "options", review all the options and install. Also, in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData", look in both the root of the "Roaming" and "Local" folders for a weirdly-named folder that has a manifest.json file in it and delete the folder.
Also look in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Chrome\Extensions" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\Chrome\Extensions" in the Windows registry. Make sure there are no IDs in there that force Chrome to automatically install a malware extension. These entries won't affect Opera, but still check.
Look for something similar at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Edge" and "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Edge\Extensions".
Same thing at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Google\Chrome\Extensions" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Edge". -

I know this post is kinda old, but to all those who has this issue, take in mind that opera gx has letters assigned as search engines quick access, I mean, if i look for "y something" it going to search it in yahoo, since "y" is the quick access for yahoo.. For me was difficult to see, bc I almost never needed to search anything that starts with y.
Hope it helps someone.
