Opera adblock doesnt block video ads on youtube. When i check on the adblock it says it blocked ads but it actually doesnt.

I think this Opera needs to patch this one, so that this ad is no more. it's annoying.

try updating your lists at opera://settings/adBlockerLists
if that doesn't work you can try using uBlock Origin
A more detailed guide can be found here

Left is Original Opera. Right is Opera GX(older version AB).
Problem solved. I use original Opera to allday using, and if i want see GX corner,
i turn on Opera GX.

Before the issue whenever I opened a youtube video it wouldn't show an ad but have a skip ad button immediately. Now Its like I have no adblocker. I tried disabling it and re-enabling it but it still doesn't work.

When I open up a video, I get ads normally like I would as if there was no ad blocker at all. How can I resolve this?

I just hope its just a bug

I have my adblocker on (same with trackers) and ads are still showing up for no reason. These are your regular ads on videos, and I even restarted opera to see if it fixed it. (im using opera gx) So, what's the problem?

Bug: Adblock isn't working again
I was watching youtube for a bit earlier, but it seems that either the Opera built-in adblock just isn't working, or Youtube released an update that somehow bypassed adblockers.
(Yes, I have adblock turned on, I'm not that dumb)

@potionsidb Same here about Ads problem but you said it happened again (happened before)? Then I am wondering if it really is an opera bug or like some think adblock for YT is slowly failling? Not sure...
P.S. I just install ublock and it works fine right now.

Several adblockers are not working for Youtube including Opera's

uBlock Origin is working and it's the best adblocker, all the others are irrelevant.

Hello, I had a problem not so long ago.
Initially, there was no advertising completely, after a while there was just a white canvas. But just yesterday, the ad started working completely. I tried using a different blocker. But nothing helps. I would really like to know how to get rid of this.

When I first started using Opera, I turned Ad Blocking on and all of my YouTube videos would immediately skip the ads, I just got white screens with a skip button. Its been working for a year, no ads on YouTube at all. I turned Ad Block off to watch something on Hulu in the browser, and now, no matter what I do, YouTube gets ads that I can't skip until YouTube lets me.
I have tried:
-Enabling Ad Block for the entire browser
-Enabling Ad Block for YouTube specifically
-Uninstalling and reinstalling the browser
-Uninstalling and reinstalling the browser and deleting my user data
-Deleting my Opera sync account then uninstalling and reinstalling the browser AND deleting my user data
-Adding other Ad Blocking extensions
The only thing that seems to work is deleting my Opera sync account then uninstalling and reinstalling the browser and deleting my user data. The ad skipping is not how I'm used to, this method simply doesn't give me an ad at all and there is no white skip page on the video. And this solution is only temporary, after a couple videos or logging into my YouTube account or logging into my sync account I begin to get ads again (ads that Opera does not auto skip or provide the white skip page for).
I apologize if this issue has been solved in another post, I have been searching for a solution through the forum and have yet to come across one. Also, none of the other Ad Block related issues seem to be the same as mine, theirs was never working or just stopped, I did something that messed with it. I have tried the solutions suggested in other posts, but they have failed to work for me.
