All my pinned and open tabs disappeared after update

I am using iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) running Mojave 10.14.6
Updated today to Opera 71.0.3770.171

I have my settings set to "Retain tabs from previous session" when shut down and this has always worked. But after the update, the tabs were not retained after shutting the browser and reopening the browser.

I tried going into Time Machine and restoring the com.operasoftware.Opera folder in Library/Application Support from earlier in the afternoon but it didn't help. I did get back all the History but none of the tabs.

How do I get the tabs back and get them to be retained with this new version?
