Opera 23 becomes Opera 22 (again)

Install Opera from Opera_23.0.1522.60_Setup.exe on a computer for use by All Users.
Complete install using Administrator account details - install seems to complete successfully.Then... while logged into the computer as a non-administrator user...
Start Opera. Opera seems to be operating satisfactorily.
Look at About Opera it reports as version 23, stable and that it is up to date. After sometime (minutes, hours), Opera just unexpectedly exits.
If Opera is then restarted and you look at About Opera it reports as version 22.
It then says that an update is available, it then downloads the update and eventually ask whether you want to upgrade.Has anybody else seen this behaviour ?
Is there any known reasons that this would occur ?
(eg. if someone else on the computer had also attempted to install Opera as the "Install for Current User" only version - does it conflict with the "All users on this computer" installation ? -

Opera just unexpectedly exits.
You probably ended up in a crash loop there.
If Opera is then restarted and you look at About Opera it reports as version 22.
Hence, it started the last version that was working for you.
It then says that an update is available, it then downloads the update and eventually ask whether you want to upgrade.
Might be that a file in 23 was corrupted. It'll therefore download the latest version anew and install it again. -
