      The result comes in plain text with stuff like this:

      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
      "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
      <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

      ...

      Also why Opera ate my post when i clicked the back button, it didnt use to do that.

            Need more information:

            What version of Opera are you using, Classic Opera presto (12.x) or new Opera Blink (15+) ?.

            Are you using the stand alone Opera Mail 1.0 or the one built into Classic Opera Presto ?.

                When you hit the compose button (ctrl + m), there are two buttons on the right of the compose tab toolbar that allow you to switch between plain text composing and HTML composing. Also, on the Outgoing tab in each account's properties, you can set the default compose mode.

                For receiving, click the slanted wrench icon at the top right of Opera and make sure "prefer plain text" is unchecked. It'd be best to uncheck "fit to width" too, but that's up to you.

                Also, make sure you're not using low-bandwidth mode on the "Incoming" tab in each account's properties. If IMAP instead of POP, also make sure you're not using "do not download attachments'. Or, if you like using those options, make sure you right-click and choose "fetch complete message" before you try to see if the received message has an HTML part.

                  Thanks burnout426, it was the wrench button, they look the same on the general and composed message screens but have different options, initially i was clicking the second one and missed the option. Now html works fine, except when redirecting the mail it comes with "" at the beginning of the message not sure whats supposed to mean.

                    You can safely select Use Plain Text and switch back to HTML formatting without losing data. Of course, you can also remove formatting selectively from text parts easily
