[Request]Opera GX on Linux

I just started using Opera GX on my Windows pc and it just feels sooo good. I also have a number of Linux machines and would like to have Opera GX there as well. Opera GX feels way more optimized than other browsers, it would solve the common Linux freeze issue and be a nice integration of chat apps.
I wish we could have a Linux port it at some point. -

It's really a shame! I would have loved to use it, and really it just looks real cool. I as well use Linux as my only OS, so it's quite sad seeing how the cool Opera isn't ported, but the normal one is. Hope it will be ported soon.

I installed Ubuntu 23.04 recently its sad you can't install Opera GX on it. I want to see if it runs one of my favorite games on it (Tanki MMO browser game works on Opera GX and Google Chrome on Windows runs well). But when I play thru google chrome on Ubuntu Linux the fan speed goes way high 4700 rpm compared to windows11 3100 rpm.
Opera GX for Linux would be cool, please release it, thanks!

I'm a big enjoyer of opera GX, although I migrated to Linux and the opera GX doesn't have any support to it. I'm begging for a release of a version to opera Gx for linux distros.

Moved from windows to 981 different distro's in the last month and settled on Kubuntu, tried to download Opera GX and got an .exe file ! That's not linux ! That's windows ! That Terrible ! So i did the follow :
- search for the package using apt, dnf, yay, arch, auch, conda, pip, python, tif, taf and tuf
- Looked on my 18TB backups of torrents i never use
- Scanned my 6000 movies for the change i overlooked a .deb file
- Asked google, jeeves, aol, bart, chatgpt, you, bing bang and bung
- Finally found this forum thread and made an user just for this
- Started complaining :
Dear Opera GX developers, have you heard of this OS called "Linux" ? More and more people use it, specially for development, gaming and trying to escape MSAppleSoft. Now wouldn't it be great to instantly get 50 to 500 thousand extra installs and make the same people happy instantly if you made the browser available ?
So stop looking at dancing women and make that flatpak, deb, rpm, dnf, yay, pacman, or .deb file. Or do like everyone else : Make a distro with GX pre installed and call it GX-Linux 94 ! Get on with it.
Thank you

Kubuntu user here. The only way I can use Opera GX is by booting into my Windows install.
But Windows is trash.
I tried to run GX with Wine, but the Installer kept crashing.
We might have to start a petition on change.org for this.

When will Opera GX be available for Linux? Opera is already available on Linux so why isn't Opera GX?

I've been using a Steam Deck as a pc lately. Seems like a poor choice to be the "Gaming Browser" and not support the gaming device.
+1 for Linux.

Browsed through the forums a bit and, although i saw a lot of posts for opera GX support for Linux, most of them are outdated. So i decided to make a new one - as a reminder. The 2 or 3 most viewed of those posts have over 100k views and hundreds if not thousands of comments. Please team opera make it happen!

By offering Opera GX on Linux, Opera Software can tap into a vibrant and passionate community, expanding its user base and reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity. Furthermore, this move would encourage healthy competition and spur further advancements in browser technology for Linux, benefiting the entire open-source ecosystem. Ultimately, developing Opera GX for Linux would provide an exceptional browsing experience tailored to the specific needs and preferences of Linux users.

Team Opera please we want it. It will help a lot of rice makers too. Imagine this -
You use a Macbook Air m2 (Midnight Black) / Dell XPS 13+ (Black). With Archcraft running on it with cool Opera GX features. How cool will it be to sit and blast through productivity job on linux while listening to the Opera Music.
Please release it on Linux this year...
