I am new to Opera (Installed with Avira Anti Virus so thought I would give it a go).

However, I am far from impressed so far.

The free VPN is a very nice addition, and for the first few hours I had noticed no lag or issues.

However, as of this morning I am unable to do any Search.

Whenever I type anything not a direct link into the top bar (and in the case of Google.com even then) all I get is a spinning circle that never ends.
I can type a full web address (bbc.co.uk) and it will go, but if I type "BBC News" I get nothing.

I am even having to type this through Firefox because I could not search for the forums through Opera.

I am determined to give Opera a "Fair shot" but it is going to have to up its game if I am to be impressed enough to stay!

FYI - have tried changing Search Engine to all variations (DuckDuckGo at the moment) without luck.

And whats with the SpamWall? Blocked from registering unless I give permission to receive non-relevant emails? I thought that was illegal now?

With VPN on or off? If on, goto the URL opera://settings/vpn. Do you have Opera set to bypass the VPN for default search engines or no?

Did you install any extensions in Opera?

That was added because of https://gdpr-info.eu/ regulations. It's just saying that you agree to forum notification emails for watched posts etc.
