Force pop-ups to open in tabs not new windows

Is there a way to force pop-ups to open only in tabs ... not new windows. This was perfectly achievable in the old version of Opera and can be done in some other browsers.

It would be a great help to keep down the proliferation of windows and the occasional error where a new windows opens tabs in the old window (unbeknownst to the user).

Ya I was looking to do the same, but I never found out how.

I tried an extension for chrome, but it wouldn't work properly. It was called ONE WINDOW i think.

The only way I got it to work is with the middle-click.

Javascript links don't open when right-click and select new tab.
