  • What is all this stuff?

Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar or the app launcher search box

Predict network actions to improve page load performance

Send suspicious downloaded files to Google

    Enable phishing and malware protection

Use a web service to help resolve spelling errors

Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports to Google

Send a "Do Not Track" request with your browsing traffic

In what case will "suspicious files" be sent to Google?
What is that "Do Not Track" thing? Should I check it? What does it do?

  • Google.com
    Bing.com
    ddg.dg

    ...

  • Opera.com!

  • As my browser is autoupdated, I've got a new "bookmarks manager" recently - which REPLACED the old, NORMAL one.
Dudes, it is absolute crap. I can't find things, I can't easily put a bookmark where I want it to be... Even I can't see a normal list of unfoldered bookmarks - which there are with me.
Some "automatic folders" which only the crazy builder knows what it is - with weird titles, as if my bookmarks in them, undeletable, etc.

Well, I sent some feedback to the Chromians, said it was crazy!
I don't know if it'll do any good, so what if I'll need an extension here some time soon - in order to simply regain normal bookmarks managing functionality? Does anybody know of such an extension - plain like a plane?

  • Well, I've found I can at least see my normal bookmarks lists as a dropdown from the bookmarks bar (though it's only enabled in a new tab - custom).

  • [Update to the above: they've reverted that back to normal.]

Well, after the last update, I noticed an option in More tools that I can't understand.
Tried to ask on Chrome's Fb page - no success (can't post nor message).
The option's called "Add to taskbar...", while I can't even remember ever using any taskbars whatsoever. I have an idea what the task scheduler is, have used the system task manager, but never knew any such bars.
    Anybody has any ideas?

  • Not about settings though...

Y'all know Google Chrome has dropped its development for Windows XP.
And recently, I see some yellow bar on start warning me about that.
But once lately, I saw another thing. The browser warned me that, since it can't update, I should consider reinstalling it.
Well, should I disregard this notice?

Since recent versions of Chrome aren't XP-compatible and won't update to such versions on an XP system, I can't see where reinstalling it would help. The message is probably the generic alert when Chrome's updater can't succeed if it pings the Chrome update site and finds an update exists but can't complete the download/update - it probably assumes the browser is broken somehow. If the browser is working fine otherwise, I personally wouldn't reinstall it.
