Placeholders (html5) in Opera Mini

Placeholder elements are not working in Opera Mini what makes it only browser (except older versions of IE): http://caniuse.com/#search=placeholder which don't support this html5 element.

You know, canIuse also states that Opera Mini 7 was the current version.
Opera Mini 8 does have placeholder support.

And it is not? In Google Play there's only 7.5.5 version.

AFAIK Opera Mini 8 is out for iOS, Java and BB.
Guess Android will be following soon.
