Cannot popout videos

Whenever i try to poput videos, its popping out but the video itself in the browser and the popout are just black and that happens on all pages, cleared browser files even reinstalled opera cant fix it

Same issue here. It occasionally works on some sites, but never, ever works on YouTube. Interestingly, when I try to use the feature on YouTube, both the original window and the pop-up go black, and the YouTube window displays a message saying "Playing in picture-in-picture." Can anyone help fix this?

This helped me. It basicly restores the old Version of the Pop-Out. Can finally have videos open while I work again :3

@nanino Thanks! this fixed the issue for me, although I also had to disable "Enable the use of SurfaceLayer objects for videos." in Flags. until I did, the video in the pop-out window would freeze after a few seconds. No issues now, though

Hi all, I know this is an old thread but the issue has returned, regardless of whether I use the old version of pop-out from Flags or the new one. The only difference is that the alternative suggested in nanino's video results in the original video window playing as normal, while the pop-out remains dark and useless. Does anyone have other solutions?

@zestinpeace check this flag called -

Use surface layers in Video Pop-out and make sure it it is Not (Disabled)

if it is - set the flag to (Default)

and relaunch browser then try Video pop out again..

if that default setting does not work - set it to Enable

for me default or enable works for me..

Note - it will be the new PIP (AKA Video Pop-out).. Old style pip is gone for now, unless ya install older version of opera..

Also note if ya got dual graphics.. then the new PIP may not work but i think the new opera dev may have fixed it.. not sure if fix has reached the opera stable tho..
