Hi there, i just installed Opera and i really like it. I tried to import my bookmarks and passwords. First i tried from Firefox and Opera didn't import nothing, then i tried with Chrome, and i successful import my bookmarks but not my passwords. I looked for solutions on the web and i found a way to export my passwords in csv file, but i don't find any way to import in opera. I found this solution on this forum "Enable opera://flags/#PasswordImport and then go to opera://settings/passwords and click on the three dots on the right o saved passwords." but when i click on the three dots, it's not show "import password".

Welcome to Opera, I love it.

So, are you trying to import bookmarks and passwords FROM Chrome and Firefox TO Opera?

When you first install Opera I think it gives you a chance to then, and that may even work better than the settings > import approach. Not sure, however.

I wonder if Chrome and FireFox also utilize the same file structure as Opera. Inter-compatibility may not be an option, equally the fault of each product, but hopefully for simplicity it is.

You say you got your Chrome bookmarks successfully, but not the passwords from Chrome, and neither from Firefox?

Is there any type of error or message you get when trying the ones that do not work?

Once you get all your bookmarks and passwords into Opera, I recommend signing in and selecting synchronize to add a pass phrase to sync everything. So every new machine or OS you simply install Opera, log on and sync, and bam, all bookmarks and passwords from the server/cloud, using an encryption key only you have (not even Opera knows).

As for now, there's an Opera blog that may help: https://blogs.opera.com/news/2014/12/how-to-import-bookmarks-from-another-browser/

To enable password importing, you need to start Opera with the --enable-features=PasswordImport command-line switch.

          For example:

          "C:\Program Files\Opera\launcher.exe" --enable-features=PasswordImport

Goto the URL opera://about to see the "install" path to see what the path to your launcher.exe is. You can then run that command in a command prompt or modify the properties of Opera's shortcut to pass that switch to launcher.exe.

Then, in Opera, you can goto the URL opera://settings/importData and import your passwords from Chrome. But, you need to make sure Chrome is closed when you do it.

Or, if you want to import the csv file, you can then goto the URL opera://settings/passwords and the "import" option will be available.

Import from Firefox didn't work, it said success but Opera didn't import nothing. Same with Chrome: success message but only bookmarks imported.
