opera 24 developer version is not supporting bengali input in xubuntu 14.04

one of the advantages of linux based os is the ability to write any language by simply changing the keyboard layout. the option is available in settings>keyboard>layout. i use this option for writing bengali. with chromium or firefox, i could simply change the keyboard layout option and start writing in bengali.
however in case of opera developer version 24, this is not taking place. even after changing the layout, opera is not taking the keyboard input as bengali and rather taking it as english input!!!
how to solve this problem?
