Audio will not play on downloaded BBC programme pages, ot on 'Listen Live' option. This is a recent change to a previously flawless service.
Youtube videos & audio play normally. -

What version of Windows? Also, is it an "N" or "Enterprise" version of Windows?
What versions of Opera?
Links? https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-50125837/dallas-tornado-strike-aftermath-of-75mph-twister plays fine for me.

What do you mean by downloaded program pages? Are you hitting ctrl + s to save a web page and then loading it locally or something?
'Listen Live' option
Link to page and where is the option?

@burnout426 Thanks for reply.
1: Windows 10 Home V. 1089 OS Build: 17763.805
I have no idea whether it is "N" or "Enterprise" version of Windows.
2: Opera V. 64.0.3417.61
Update stream: Stable
W10 64-bitThe link you gave worked fine fo me too.
"What do you mean by downloaded program pages? Are you hitting ctrl + s to save a web page and then loading it locally or something?" I just click on the program page on www.bbc.co.uk/radio4, then click on 'Listen now'. I didn't know about ctrl + s.
Hope this is what you needed.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_fourfm is playing fine for me in the same Opera version on Windows 10. Might be an extension or Opera's privacy protection/adblocker messing things up.

I've turned ad & tracker blocker 'off' on the BBC R4 website and there has been an Opera update tonight, but I still cannot listen to BBC programmes.
I have recently been experiencing a problem of ESET failing to finish updating at startup, thus preventing Opera from loading. This problem was resolved by a complete uninstall/re-install of ESET, run by ESET support staff using 'Takecontrol'
Since this problem was resolved, Opera hangs up and will not respond at start-up. I kill it then reload and on the third attempt it usually loads and runs normally for the rest of the day.
Do you have any suggestions, please? -

Open the task manager and make sure no Opera processes are running. Then, uninstall Opera while choosing to keep your data. Then, download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options" (review and adjust all the options) and install. If that doesn't help, then I'm assuming ESET (or something else) is messing with Opera.
