https://www.google.com/search?q=Error+Code+0xc0000005 might help.
Do you have Windows 10? If so, did it recently update?
Have you had any hardware issues lately?
Look in the task manager. Do you see any opera.exe processes still running? If so, kill them and try to start Opera again.
Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation", uncheck "import data from default browser" and install. Does that Opera start up?
Create another user account on Windows and try in it. Do things work fine there?

Hello,
thanks for your help. It's Windows 7, no updates recently. No opera.exe processes are running. I tried to install it like you said, but it didn't work either. All user accounts are effected.

Yikes. Any issues with any other programs? Chrome, Vivaldi and Brave work fine?
#3 and #5 on https://www.auslogics.com/en/articles/fix-error-code-0xc0000005-in-windows-10/ might help. #4 might be a workaround for now, but if everything is right, you shouldn't have to do that and should find the main culprit.
Sounds like something is messed up on windows.

I would recommend to cut the problem resetting the Profile [*].
Then, you could try to fix it, also paste old files to the new one but the problem could reappear, take that in count.
Just test it.
Follow the Signature's BackUp | Reset link.

Also,
Take the opportunity to make a Template Profile and organize a Backup plan.SyncBack / Synkron would help - Win -.

[*] Reset the profile would be hard (at the begining), but you will start to know the important files, back them up and learn how to fix many problems without spending to much time.
