Hi, i noticed that every time opera have an update to make, doesn't need only one restart, but 3 or 4... It's bug or something with my files? If you know. Thanks

It only takes one restart for me. However, I look at my hard drive activity light to make sure the updater is done doing its stuff before I relaunch Opera.

When I goto "Menu -> Help -> About Opera" to check for updates and install an update, before I click the "Relaunch" button, I wait a while to make sure Opera's really done installing the update. Otherwise, restarting won't show the new update.

You shouldn't really have to do that though since Opera changed things to only show the relaunch button once the auto-updater is done installing the update. But, I wait a bit anyway just in case and don't have any problems.

Are you talking about where Opera has a red dot on the menu button to tell you that it has already updated and you just have to restart Opera?

If just waiting longer to restart doesn't work, I'd uninstall Opera while keeping your data. Then, I'd delete all files and folders in "C:\windows\temp" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\local\temp". Then, I'd load the windows task scheduler and delete any autoupdate tasks that remain. Then, I'd reinstall Opera and you should be good to go I'd think.

I tried that, in stable ver. and needed only one restart. Good advice, thanks, but why it needs some time to do its stuff? As you said, you know?

No, i'm talking about if i need to do something in folder for Opera to work better, if there is any corrupted file i mean.

Really? Until now i don't have see that with so many restarts.

The auto-updater has to copy the current version folder and then patch the files. (or installer all new files if the update is not a small patch). That just takes a bit sometimes.

Not sure what you mean by that sentence.

You really shouldn't have to wait a while after the "relaunch" button appears before restarting. The reason you shouldn't have to wait is that the relaunch button shouldn't appear until the update is installed and 100% ready to be used. However, in practice, it seems you sometimes do have to wait longer or you'll have to restart multiple times.
