  • Hi folks,

I am trying to figure out how to get Norton's extension Chrome.crx to work in Opera 18 (Blink) but I am not successful, so maybe someone more skilled can help.

It is a generally known fact that practically almost all Chrome extensions work in Opera chromium. You just need to install Download Chrome Extension from the Extension store and you can install then chrome extensions by drag & drop *.crx files into the Opera extension page. I have a couple of Chrome extensions installed in Opera and they all work flawlessly.

So I did the exactly same procedure, i.e. drag & drop chrome.crx file to the extension page. NIS extension installed successfully and I can see the NIS icon among other installed extensions. So it faces like it works but unfortunately it is probably a wrong assumption as I don't see coloured NIS icone changing as per visited site.

So my question is why the NIS extension doesn't work in Opera or is there something what I missed? I have also asked in Norton's forum but nobody could give me a clue.

Can someone of Opera geeks or techies help out?

    Thanks & regards.
