i just saw an old thread back from 2016 that left unanswered. the problem still same: opera uninstalled without any warning. only opera, there is no other software that got uninstalled. so is it basically opera's problem or windows 10's problem?
(sorry for my bad english btw)

Some questions:
- What version of Windows10 are you using? (In Windows Search, type: version. What is the Version number listed there - for example, 10.0.17763 Build 17763)
- Was Opera running at the time it was uninstalled?
- What was the last thing that occurred on your system before the uninstall event? (For example: system came out of hibernation/sleep, system rebooted after Windows update, installed another software (if so, which?), etc)?

@cend said in opera sometimes got uninstalled in windows 10:
Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362
Look back where you found the build number. Does it say "1903" for "Version"? The reason I ask is I hear 1903 is still quite buggy.

Also, if you installed Opera for the current user only (the default) where it gets installed to "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera", are you saying that Opera folder is gone and launcher.exe etc. is no longer in it?
Also, look at "C:\Users" to see if there's something odd, like where you have yourusername and yourusername.2 or something like that. Or, one that says "migrated" in its name.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to download Crystal Disk Info and check out the status of your drive to make sure it's not failing.

If @cend uses the Search method I mentioned, it may not necessarily show the "release date" name of the build... it may instead only show the basic build number. Ordinarily, the build suffix (eg 18362.239, released in July 2019) defines the exact sub-version of the release but in Microsoft's inscrutable "wisdom", in their Search results tables for newer Win10 versions, they don't list that suffix or the 4-digit "release date" nomenclature. To get the exact sub-version and "release date" nomenclature info on later Win10 versions, a user has to use the non-intuitive method of opening the Start panel, clicking Run, and entering: winver.
That said, 18362 is the 1903 version in one of its release subversions. While 1903 has indeed been a "bag of bugs", the problems I've seen lately online regarding missing apps usually only have involved missing program icons from the Start menu, icons on the Start menu or Taskbar failing to start the selected program, or removal of a program from Windows' 'default' status. In very early days of 1903 (eg: at/around November 2018), there were a few scattered reports of it actually removing a program (or at least parts of a program), but I've seen nothing along those lines since the later 1903 sub-versions began releasing around April 2019.

@blackbird71 Yeah. I meant "Start button -> Settings -> System -> About" under the "Windows Specifications" section on the page.
