Colour of visited links

I cannot change the colour of the visited links that appear after a search. The relevant part of the Preferences tool (Webpages) says I have different colours for Normal links and visited links, but it does not work. Any suggestions? I am running XP, and I use Duckduckgo as my search engine.

Just discovered a feature of Duckduckgo that enables changes to its look and feel. Guess what? You can change the colour of links there, and it overrides Opera's settings. Now I feel really stupid!
No further help required (on this subject anyway!)
