@fckopera: It might be Opera itself blocking Ghostery somehow, I disabled their ad blocker some time ago. Consider that when I tried to post this reply I got this message

Yet the other day I got a message saying as I had not logged in for 730 days my account would be deleted for inactivity. I have commented in last 730 days but clearly they seem to be seeking to mute or delete or cancel me. Maybe I have no reputation, I can live with that.

Since today, 2rd October, Ghostery stopped working for YouTube videos as they simply refuses to even load now with Ghostery enabled. I had also uBlock Origin, and when I tried with only it enabled and Ghostery Disabled, YouTube went working for me, for now.
So, Ghostery doesn't work anymore for YouTube, unfortunately. -

Awesome little tool (little?)
okay, huge tool in a small package, I guess. Uhm, very nifty with all it's features, it's sort of like privacy badger... but on steroids or some kind of mk-ultra-derivate, not only does it kick off trackers and other pesky things but it blocks ads, has a great developer who seem to actually do things for its users whenever something breaks down, awesome sauce! -

As of December 8th/9th Ghostery stopped working/youtube recognized that ads were being blocked and stopped any playback

Excellent, been using it for what seems like a decade now. Not many issues and the team is quick to fix them. Seriously don't know what I would do without it, probably stop using the internet altogether since its become more and more driven by ads and invasive trackers and other privacy violating probes from corporations everywhere. Not even browsing Wikipedia is safe these days without something like Ghostery, and as far as such extensions go this is my number 1 choice.
