I use the lapass extension because there is a convenient plugin for storing passwords and logins, but I think that cookies (also passwords) are better protected in the chrome browser. Because when we open the database, it is empty to read the data, you need to decode it. It is "some" (not complete) additional security.

Lastpass is fine for simple use, but for heavy users it is clunky and unnecessary complicated. The user interface is really bad. After 10 years of use I decided to move on to the competition and have not looked back since. The user experience could be so much better with so little effort, yet all those years, they just haven't cared. The competition has its weak points in user experience too, but these get fixed. Not so with Lastpass.

Opera tells me Last Post is installed but Last Post tells me to use a browser with Last Post installed

@peter1smyth My LastPass appears on my desktop but also in my browser(s), I assumed I downloaded it to both although I may not remember correctly since I subscribed to the free version years ago. I do know I have it on all the browsers I use: Brave, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome. Since I started with each at different times, I am sure I d/led LP separately to each. It is only one account. Now LP charges if you want it on your computer and your smartphone. FWIW

@sweetrumour: So which one did you switch to? I can't really find anything close to lastpass in the free range.

I believe that the last LastPass update broke the 2FA with Google Authenticator. On my opera browser I'm getting an empty new tab when I open it which seems (from the url) that it's the Lastpass extension trying to ask for Google's 2FA to refresh it.

@kkout: I was having the same issue. Solved it by resintalling the extension completely then in the first login checking the remember device for 30 days. @Chatmandu

Agreed that the latest patch has broken the authenticator prompt when the remember device period has elapsed. As advised by mrspickles, a reinstall at least allows resetting the remember device period to put the problem off for another 30 days.
